MULTAN: The Lahore High Court (Multan bench) on Tuesday stayed an audit of a sugar mill owned by Jehangir Khan Tareen.
Earlier, Tareen had filed a petition in the LHC Multan bench after receiving an audit notice from the FBR. The court stayed FBR proceedings and audit of the sugar mill in Rahim Yar Khan and sought explanation from the tax authority. The petitioner told the court he had received a notice from the FBR on May 21. The FBR sought complete record of his sugar mill and related documents.
The petitioner took the plea that the FBR has no right to demand records from him. The FBR sought a 2015 record from him.
