LAHORE: Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar has said that restrictions related to mask would be eased once a good number of the country’s population is vaccinated.
He was addressing the media during his visit to the special vaccination centre set up at Government College University (GCU) Lahore on Tuesday. Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Asghar Zaidi was also present.
The governor, who is also chancellor of GCU, said all teachers and students would be vaccinated for which special vaccination centres were being set up by the Health Department in other universities as well. He said students should not adhere to misinformation being spread on the social media about the vaccine as all eminent doctors and scientists across the world had a consensus on vaccination.
The governor said his wife and he participated in the trials of CanSino vaccine. Prof Asghar Zaidi that 95 per cent teaching and non-teaching staff members had been vaccinated and now students were being vaccinated. He also laid stress on fighting misconceptions and disinformation about vaccine through affirmative measures. He said the students who had not received their registration code could also come to the centre and get vaccinated through their student card.
