KARACHI: Trials to select men and women tennis teams for South Asian Games, which will be held in Guwahati (India) next year, begin on Monday (today) in Islamabad.
For men’s team, Aqeel Khan and Aisamul Haq Qureshi are exempted from trials.
Four male and female players will be selected to represent Pakistan in the Games.
Rashid Malik has been named as coach of the men’s team. He will also coach both men and women teams in Lahore from January 1.
Meanwhile, the trials to select three-member boys 16 and under team for Junior Davis Cup will also begin on Monday, at S Dilawar Abbas, PTF Tennis Complex.
Khalid Siddique is the captain and coach of the team. The Junior Davis Cup competition will be held in Sri Lanka from February 29 to March 6, 2016.
