Siraj demands inquiry into Ghotki train accident
LAHORE:Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Sirajul Haq, while expressing grief over Ghotki train accident, demanded an impartial inquiry into the incident and strict actions against those responsible.
Everyone knows an inquiry committee will be constituted but its findings and the punishments to those responsible will never be known, he alleged. The committee will actually work to hide the facts and cover the negligence instead of punishing the culprits, he said in a statement from Mansoora on Monday. Siraj lamented that Railways had been an asset to the country but was now on the verge of total collapse, adding that not only Pakistan Railways but every institution witnessed a fast decline over the past few decades.
The colliding of trains had become a permanent feature in the country and now people were not ready to travel by trains, he added. The railways rolling stock, locomotives, coaches, workshops and other infrastructure were presenting a gloomy picture and this government had not made even a try to fix the problems, he regretted.
