Sarwar, Qadri vow to work for national goals

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Punjab organiser Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar on Sunday called on Pakistan Awami Tehreek head Dr Tahirul Qadri at his residence and discussed matters of electoral reforms, the Model Town tragedy investigation, corruption, terrorism, unemployment, poverty and oppression by the government.

According to a press release, both leaders affirmed their commitment to work together for solutions of problems of the country. PAT Secretary General Dr. Khuram Nawaz Gandapur and other leaders were also present on the occasion. Both leaders, while talking to the media after the meeting announced that they would meet again in few days.  Speaking on the occasion, Chaudhry Sarwar said he had old relations with Dr Tahir and both PTI and PAT would work together to solve the issues confronted by the people of Pakistan. 

Sarwar said that he wanted strong electoral reforms and an independent Election Commission to make the common man part of the parliament and legislation process. They said, government's failure to apprehend murders of seventeen people of the Minhaj ul Quran incident in Model Town and murders of PTI workers in Phool Nagar and other cities was tragic.

He said that police was protecting the culprits and threatening the victims instead of arresting the murderers.

He said both parties would make strategy to address public issues after party elections of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf. He said also said that intra party elections were necessary for sustainable democracy despite reservations from some party leaders.
