This refers to the letter ‘When I get older’ (June 4) by Aamir Aqil. For the ease and convenience of pensioners, the Employees Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI) has introduced multiple options for the renewal of ATM cards. Pensioners can call at 111 225 229 or visit Bank Alfalah branches as well as the bank’s retailers for card activation. Also, the EOBI has also introduced a callback feature where pensioners can send an SMS to 8645 and receive a callback within 24-48 hours and can get their card activated from the comfort of their homes.
All pensioners, however, are required to undergo biometric verification every six months. This verification will help keep their accounts active. This verification can be done at any Bank Alfalah branch or Easypaisa outlet. All Easypaisa outlets and bank branches are equipped with the necessary equipment to facilitate pensioners. In case of any issue, a pensioner can reach out to an EOBI regional office or call the Bank Alfalah helpline to lodge a complaint.
