87 suspects arrested during operation in Tarnol
Islamabad : Senior-Superintendent of Police (Operations) Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanweer has said that Islamabad Police have arrested 87 suspects with drug peddlers, liquor seller during a grand targeted combing and search operation in Tarnol areas and shifted them to police station for further investigation.
Following orders of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Qazi Jamil Ur Rehman, he said that an effective operation against those involved in anti-social activities, ugly business of drug smuggling and dealing.
Following his directions, the SSP (Operations) told that a grand targeted search and combing operation was conducted in the various areas of Tarnol Police Station. This operation was supervised by SP Saddar Farooq Amjad Butter including SDPO Saddar, SDPO Shalimar, Station House Officers (SHOs), officials from different police stations of Saddar Zone.
A total of 413 persons were checked during this operation while 290 houses, 65 vehicles and 15 shops were screened. A total of 87 suspects, including three major narcotics peddlers with previous criminal history, accused having illicit weapons and two Afghan national living illegally shifted to police station and case registered against drug peddlers, while 2,725 grams of hashish, 40 liters alcohol and three illicit pistols were also recovered.
IGP Islamabad Qazi Jamil Ur Rehman and DIG (Operations) Afzaal Ahmad Kausar have appreciated this performance.
Syed Mustafa Tanveer said that Islamabad police would leave no stone unturned to root to curb the crime and the future of the young generation would be protected by curbing ugly business of drugs. He said that such operations would continue in future.
