BANNU: The residents of Janikhel have staged a sit-in to protest the killing of a tribal elder. The protesting people have refused to bury the body of Malik Naseeb, who was shot dead two days ago. The participants in the protest sit-in have decided to march towards Islamabad along with the body on June 10.
A large number of people, including young men and elders, attended the sit-in. Dr Gul Alam, head of Wazir tribe, said that the chief minister had signed an agreement promising to maintain law and order and purge the area of armed groups.
They complained that the government could not honour the agreement. They also criticized Spl Asst to CM on Information for his remarks that Malik Naseeb’s killing was the result of personal enmity.
