KOHAT: Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) chief Manzoor Pashteen was released after being detained for a few hours here on Friday.
It was learnt that Manzoor Pashteen was going to Islamabad when the police and officials of the security agencies intercepted him along with other activists of PTM near the Khushalgarh checkpost in Kohat.
The police said that Manzoor Pashteen was later released.
MNA Mohsin Dawar said that Manzoor Pashteen was going to attend the protest sit-in in Janikhel area in Bannu district being staged against the killing of a tribal elder. The PTM leadership claims that the law-enforcement agencies had launched a crackdown against the PTM activists in Bannu, Tank and Dera Ismail Khan districts for the last two days while the government had ignored the plight of the people of Waziristan.
