Plot occupation case: No place left unoccupied by qabza mafias: LHC CJ
LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Qasim Khan remarked on Tuesday that no place, public or private, had been left unoccupied by the influential people, departments and qabza mafias in the city.
Hearing a case about illegal occupation of a plot by the Lahore police here, he ordered SP Cantt to present certified record of the plot and its handing over to the owner Syed Ashraf Hussain, on Thursday, June 3.
The chief justice, in his remarks, said if the reply was not submitted, the officer must appear before the court without his badges.
Counsel for the applicant, Kamran Bashir Mughal Advocate, stated that the police had occupied his client’s plot and converted it into a police check-post, and SP Saddar Hafizur Rehman was not handing over the plot to the owner. He informed the court that the file of the plot had been disappeared by LDA Director Rafia Nazir and Arshad Dogar.
The LHC, in its remarks, said that incapable persons had destroyed the LDA. The court showed annoyance with LDA Assistant Director Jehangir.
SP Cantt sought time for presenting the reply, on which the court said why h should not be suspended and sent to jail.
