Eid Milad celebrated with traditional zeal in Punjab

FAISALABAD: Like other parts of the country, Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH) was celebrated at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad with traditional zeal and enthusiasm.
The day dawned with Quran Khawani at the university mosque followed by a special lecture on Seeratun Nabi (PBUH). Meanwhile, UAF Vice-Chancellor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan in a message said that the life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) was practical interpretation of the Holy Quran. Scholar Israr Hussain called for following in the footprints of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). He urged the Muslims to unite to fight the present day challenges.
MUTLAN: People from different walks of life celebrated Eid Milad with religious and traditional fervour amid tight security measures here on Thursday.
Total 66 Milad processions were taken out from different areas of the city. The people, including children, were wearing colourful dresses. Meanwhile, police had divided the processions into three categories from security point of view. Seven processions were including in ‘A’ category, eight in ‘B’ category and 51 in ‘C’ category. As many as 4,974 police officials and volunteers performed security duties to avoid any untoward incident.
BAHAWALPUR: Eid Milad was celebrated throughout Bahawalpur division, comprising Bahawalpur, Rahimyar Khan and Bahawalnagar districts, amid tight security on Thursday.
Total 200 big and small processions were taken out in the division. In Bahawalpur, the main Milad procession was taken out from Jamia Masjid Serani on Multan Road. It was led by Allama Faiz Ahmad Awaisi and Mufti Muhammad Afzal Sabri. About 80 to 85 small and big processions also joined the main procession, which concluded at Markazi Eidgah Bahawalpur where a Milad conference was also held.
In Bahawalnagar, the main procession was taken out from Jamia Raza-e-Mustafa (PBUH) while in Rahimyar Khan, the main procession was taken out from Town Hall.
Processions were also taken out from Chishtian, Uch Sharif, Hasilpur, Khanpur, Sadiqabad, Liaqatpur, Khairpur Tamewali, Haroonabad, Fort Abbas and Yazman. Around 6,500 police personnel performed security duties.
DERA GHAZI KHAN: Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH) was celebrated in the district.
As many as 34 large and small processions were taken out in the district. The main procession taken out from Jamia Mosque Block No-3 was led by Milad Committee president Sahibzada Anwar Hassan Qureshi and JUP leader Maulana Muhammad Khan Leghari. The procession culminated at Pakistani Chowk after marching through its route. Extraordinary security arrangements were made by police to avoid any untoward incident.
Meanwhile, a cake cutting ceremony was also held. Syed Pannah Ali Shah was the chief guest on the occasion. The Youth Forum also organised a quiz competition at Ghanta Ghar Goal Bagh.
NANKANA SAHIB: Eid Milad was celebrated with religious zeal, enthusiasm and fervour across the district.
The day dawned with special prayers in all mosques for the progress and prosperity of the country. Prayers were also offered for unity of the Muslims. The Milad processions were taken out from Nankana, Bucheki, Shahkot, Sangla Hill and Syedwala. In Nankana city, the main procession was taken out from Aqsa Mosque and culminated at Milad Chowk. Markazi Milad Committee Allama Mohibul Nabi Tahir, Haji Hameed Rehmani, Muhammad Shakeel Atari and Mehr Aslam Nasir advocate led the procession. The Sikh community gave a warm reception to the participants of the Milad procession when it reached near Gurdwara Janamasthan. They also distributed free meal among the participants. Police had made strict security to avoid any untoward incident. Meanwhile, a 215-pound cake was cut at Mohallah Islampura, Morr Khunda.
GUJRANWALA: Twelve Milad processions were taken out from different parts of the city.
The main procession led by Maulana Muhammad Dawood Rizvi, Maulana Abdul Aziz Chishti and Maulana Mufti Muhammad Hussain Siddique was taken out from Sheranwala Bagh up to Milad Chowk. Strict security arrangements were made by police. A large number of policemen were deputed with the procession and on the procession route.
Earlier, the day dawned with special prayers in all mosques. Meanwhile, the government and private buildings, mosques and markets have been illuminated with colourful bunting and lights.
HAFIZABAD: Two Milad processions were taken out here.
The first procession was taken out from Vanike Chowk up to Alipur Road. Jamaat Ahle Sunnat leaders Allama Syed Fida Hussain Shah, Allama Rana Muhammad Asghar Chishti, Allama Faisal Nadeem, Peer Syed Waseem Naqvi, Allama Muhammad Ashraf Sial, Peer Syed Zulqarnain and Allama Badar Zaman led the procession. The second procession was taken out from Old Sabzi Mandi.
MUZAFFARGARH: A number of Milad processions were taken out across the district.
The main procession organised by the Ulema Aman Committee was led by Mufti Aqeelur Rehman, Mufti Muhammad Shafi, Makhdoom Ghulam Ali Shah Bukhari and others. Different religious, social, cultural and educational organisations organised Naat Khawani and other functions to mark the day. Mosques, streets, plazas, roads, bazaars, markets, government buildings and houses have been decorated with lights and flags. Police had made foolproof security arrangements.
VEHARI: Like other parts of the country, Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH) was celebrated in Vehari. The main Milad procession was taken out from Noori Masjid, which was led by Maulana Wahab Noori. A large number of citizens participated in the procession. Different organisations arranged functions to mark the day.
PAKPATTAN: The main Milad procession was taken out from the grain market here on Thursday.
Grain market president Maulana Qutabuddin, Mian Ashraf, Syed Hussain Zaidi, Qazi Ghulam Sabir and Qazi Muhammad Akmal led the procession. The participants marched through College Road, Nageena Chowk, Darbar Road, Old Town Hall, Fawara Chowk, Thana Road and Railway Road. Police had made foolproof security arrangements to avoid any untoward incident. Meanwhile, the streets, bazaars, roads and houses were illuminated with colourful buntings and lights.
OKARA: Thousands of people participated in a Milad procession here. Jamaat Ahle Sunnat leader Sahibzada Muhammad Fazlur Rehman addressed the participants. A heavy police contingent remained with the procession till the end at Ghausia Masjid Chowk.
KASUR: The main Milad procession was taken out from NBP Chowk.
Dozens of small processions also merged into the main procession. A procession by special persons also attracted the people. The city roads, bazaars, streets, mosques and houses were decorated with buntings.
LALAMUSA: Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH) was celebrated with religious zeal and fervour here.
The main procession organised by the Anjuman Islamia was taken out from Jamia Masjid Railway Road up to Milad Chowk. Meanwhile, other organisations also arranged processions to mark the day.
ARIFWALA: Several Milad processions were taken out here.
The participants marched through different roads. Police had made strict security to avoid any untoward incident.
