Aqeel tames Ahmed in tennis championship

KARACHI: Favourite Aqeel Khan dispatched Ahmed Chaudhry, recording a straight-set victory 7-6(3), 6-1 in the men’s semi-final to confirm his place in the final of the inaugural Benazir Bhutto Shaheed National Tennis Championship 2015 which is underway in Islamabad.
In the summit clash, Aqeel will face second seed Shezad Khan, who defeated his younger brother Yasir 7-6(3), 6-1.
Sara Mehboob Khan annexed the women’s singles title to her name when she beat Sara Mansoor in straight sets 6-1, 6-4.
In the boys under-18 final, top seed Muzammil Murtaza faced tough resistance from Aman Atique who took the match to its full stretch. Aman took the first set 6-4. Muzzamil bounced back strongly and took the next two sets 6-0, 6-2 to claim the title.
