Sindh Health Minister Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has directed the health secretary and head of the EPI Programme to submit a report within three days regarding deaths caused by measles in Mirpurkhas and Shahdadkot and the measures being taken to prevent further such incidents.
Presiding over a meeting at his office on Monday, Dahar said that it was a matter of serious concern that two children had died of measles and concrete measures should be taken in this regard. He directed the health secretary to take steps to sort out the shortage of doctors and paramedics in Civil Hospital Dadu.
Dahar said there was no shortage of medicines for the EPI Programme and tenders had been published to purchase hepatitis vaccine on court orders.
