Man loses Rs1 million

OKARA: A man lost Rs 1 million due to carelessness here on Saturday.
Muhammad Yusuf of Bahawalnagar drew Rs 1 million from a bank on MA Jinnah Road and went to a van stand. He put his money bag on a cot outside a washroom and went inside. When he came out of the washroom, he found his bag missing. On information, B-Division police reached the spot and started investigation. Seeing footage of CCTV cameras installed at the van stand, police came to know that two young boys had stolen the bag. A case has been registered.

Chairing a meeting here, he said that police had been directed to finalise security arrangements for the Milad processions. He directed the Health Department and Rescue 1122 to remain alert. Meanwhile, chairing a meeting regarding Christmas, he said that special Christmas bazaars would be established in the district. He said that fresh fruits, vegetables, flour, ghee, sugar and meat would be available in the bazaars.
Later, talking to delegations of traders, farmers and journalists in his office, the DCO said that the district would be purged of illegal arms. He said that computerisation of arms licenses would bring down the crime rate.
