Poetry recital held

CHAKWAL: All Pakistan peace poetry recital was held at the community centre by the district government Chakwal on Saturday.
The event was presided over by renowned poet Amjad Islam Amjad and at least two dozen poets arrived from Lahore, Multan, Khanewal and Islamabad. Attiqul Rasool Advocate, Natiq Jafari, Saima Mustafa, Mrs Naqvi, Raja Mohammad Javed, Khawaja Danial Saleem, Safi ul Safi, Munawar Aziz, Khawaja Babar Saleem Mehmood, Professor Ehsan Elahi Ehsan, and other poets recited their verses. The DCO in his welcome address said Chakwal is the land of soldiers and martyrs and founder of Urdu and Punjabi Ghazals Hazrat Shah Murad. He said the district has great literary and cultural background.
The founder of Chakwal Chamber of Commerce Qazi Muhammad Akbar, president Khawaja Arif Yousaf, Deputy director colleges Nasir Awan, EDO education Dr Ghulam Murtaza, renowned educationist Syed Munir Haider Shah, DO social welfare Tanveer Safdar, AC Musawar Khan Naizi and others administration officers and a good number of women also attended the poetry recital.
MOTORCYCLIST INJURED: A motorcyclist sustained critical injuries when a vehicle hit him near Sutwal village in the area of Sadr police station. Khalid Mehmood of Bhalla village told police that his son was heading Sutwal village when a car hit the motorcycle, leaving him injured critically.
