Swat PTI activists join PPP

MINGORA: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) dissident activists joined Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) in Kabal tehsil in Swat district on Saturday.

PTI activists, including Rehmat Hussain, Sardar Hussain, Lal Zahir, Bakhti Rawan Khan, Kiramat Khan, Yousaf Ali Khan, Sahibzada, Pir Muhammad Khan, Muhammad Ali Khan, Bahadar Khan, Nasir Khan, Qari Fayaz, Fazal Khan and others, announced joining the PPP at a gathering here.

Speaking on the occasion, PPP local leader Saleem Khan said that PTI-led coalition government did nothing for the people and that was why people were joining PPP. The PPP leadership would never disappoint the new entrants, he added.

Meanwhile, two persons sustained injuries when rival groups traded fire in Barikot area in Swat district on Saturday, official sources said.

They said that there was an old enmity between two groups led by Manzarey and Bakhti Rawan. The rivals groups exchanged fire early in the day in which Manzarey and Bakhti Rawan sustained injuries.

The injured were rushed to the Saidu Sharif Hospital where their condition was stated to be stable.
