Seven killed, 11 injured in Khuzdar accident

Khuzdar: Seven people were killed and 11 others sustained injuries in a head-on collision between a passenger coach and an oil tanker near the Wadh area here on Saturday.

Four of the dead belonged to the Malakand area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and the remaining three were the residents of the Khuzdar district. Police said that a passenger coach was on its way from Khuzdar to Karachi when it collided head-on with an oil tanker on the Khuzdar-Karachi national highway, killling seven people and injuring 11 others.

“Seven people died on the spot and 11 others received critical wounds,” the police said, adding that rescue teams rushed to the site and shifted the dead and the injured to a hospital. The dead were identified as Rehman Gul, son of Abdul Quddoos, Khanzada, son of Gul, Mehmood, son of Rustam, Sher Muhammad, son o of Muhammad Ayyub.

They were members of the Tableeghi Jamaat and the residents of the Malakand area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The three other dead belonged to Khuzdar who were identified as Muhammad Ashraf, son of Muhammad Aalam, Mir Hassan, son of Juma Khan and Ali Nawaz, son of Muhammad Suleman. The injured were given medical treatment at the hospital in Wadh and later there were referred to Karachi and Quetta due to their serious condition. The police have been investigating into the incident. Further probe was underway.
