10 SHOs shuffled following protests against poor law, order

BAHAWALPUR: Following protests against the poor law and order, DPO Sarfraz Falki has shuffled 10 SHOs.
According to a spokesman for the DPO Office, Ahmadpur City SHO Inspector Abdul Razzaq has been transferred and posted as the Qaimpur SHO, Khairpur Tamewali SHO Inspector Mumtaz Ahmad as the Hasilpur Sadr SHO, Naushera Jadeed SHO Inspector Allah Yar Saifi as the Khairpur Tamewali SHO, Dera SHO Nasir Ghauri as the Channi Goth SHO, Channi Goth SHO Abdul Jabbar as Ahmadpur East City SHO, Hasilpur Sadr SHO Azhar Javed as the Naushera Jadeed SHO, Inspector Mumtaz Jajja as the Ahmadpur East SHO and Inspector Hayat Shahjehan as the Head Rajkan SHO while Civil Lines SHO Noor Nawaz was replaced by Sub-Inspector Farhan Hussain.

BAHAWALPUR: Polling in four wards of the Bahawalnagar District Council and one ward of the Haroonabad Municipal Committee was held here on Thursday.
According to the unofficial results, Khadim Hussain was elected councillor from UC-25 Kabootri Ward No-4, Hafiz Noor Ahmad from UC-30 Marri Mian Sahib, Noor Nabi of the PML-N from UC-75 Ward No-3 and Ch Riaz Ahmad from UC-37 Islampura. In Haroonabad MC Ward No-7, PML-Z candidate Ch Muzamil Hussain won the councillor slot. Earlier, polling in these wards was stopped during the first phase of local government elections due to mistakes in ballot papers.
Dacoits kill salesman on resistance

BAHAWALPUR: Two dacoits killed a salesman and injured another on resistance here.
According to Civil Lines police, Bilal Ahmad of Lodhran and Akhtar Ali were on their way when the dacoits tried to rob them but they resisted. It infuriated the dacoits and they opened fire on them. As a result, Bilal was killed on the spot while Akhtar was injured. Meanwhile, the grain market traders staged a demonstration against Civil Lines police. They ended the protest after registration of a case.
