PAF pays homage to martyrs of APS

Islamabad: First anniversary of horrific attack on Army Public School, Peshawar, was observed all over the country on Wednesday. Special ceremonies were held at all Fazaia Institutions to commemorate the sacrifice of Army Public School’s students and staff members, who embraced martyrdom in the horrendous terrorist attack. 

A ceremony was also held at Fazaia College, Islamabad, to pay homage to the martyred souls. Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Vice Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Saeed Muhammad Khan was the chief guest on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the vice chief of air staff lauded the great sacrifice by the brave young students and teachers who laid down their lives in the appalling incident. He also underscored nation’s resilience, high morale and firm resolve to eliminate the nefarious designs of terrorists. He further said that Pakistan Air Force has been playing a dominant role in the ongoing operation 'Zarb-e-Azb', in complete synergy with the Pakistan Army. He reiterated that all measures would be taken to weed out the menace of terrorism from our motherland. 

The ceremony started with the recitation of Holy Quran, followed by National Anthem. A short documentary was shown to venerate the indomitable courage of the martyrs of APS. Students of the Fazaia School delivered speeches to pay tribute to the bravery and supreme sacrifices of the APS students. Two motivational songs and a tableau were also played to highlight the national efforts against terrorism. Similar ceremonies were held at Fazaia Schools & Colleges all over the country.
