The Lahore High Court on Wednesday summoned Punjab Irrigation Secretary Captain (r) Saif Anjum for violating court order by dismissing 160 employees.
The officials filed contempt petition against the secretary and stated they had been working with the department for last 15 to 17 years but the secretary terminated them just for being contract employees.
Earlier, Justice Khalid Mahmood Khan of the LHC had stayed employees’ termination. They said secretary had committed contempt of court by terminating them. They pleaded the court to initiate contempt proceedings against him. After hearing arguments, the court summoned secretary for Thursday (today).
