Ceremony pays tribute to APS martyrs
JHANG: The District Government Wednesday organized a ceremony to pay tributes to martyrs of the Army Public School.
Mothers and widows of Pak Army martyrs attended the ceremony as chief guests.
District Coordination officer (DCO) Nadir Chattha, DPO Humayun Masood, EDO Education, Nasim Ahmed Zahid, District Education Officer Kausar Ramay and others officers also attended the ceremony.
The DCO others gave special cards to 12 families of Army martyrs.
He said the cards would give them special discounts during shopping and travelling besides special protocol while visiting any government office.
He said if anybody was found not according respect to the card holders, then a strict action would be initiated against that one.
The DCO assured family members of the Army martyrs that they are free to contact with him round the clock and their problems will be resolved on top priority level.
The DPO highlighted steps taken by the police for the security of schools and colleges of the district.
At Shafqat Shaheed ground a candle lightning ceremony was also held that was attended by students of colleges and schools, teachers, government officials and people from civil society attended the ceremony.
Another candle lighting function also was arranged at resue-1122 headquarters to pay tributes to APS martyrs.
POETIC CONTEST: A poetic contest was held acknowledging sacrifices of students of the APS at Jinnah Hall.
DCO Amer Ijaz Akbar, ADC Zeshan Shabir Rana, DMO Asif Dogar,AC Wasif Khokhar, DO labour Saeed Dhillon and DO Social welfare Mian Zahid also attended it.
Local poets Abdullah Abubakar, Tariq Nashir, Imran Ajiz, Ghulam Muhammad Azam, Rashid Rayee, Razzaq Awaisi, Mustafa Paras, Saba Bano,Manzar Philori and Saeed Ahmad recited their poetry.
Meanwhile, a friendly cricket match was played between teams of Toba Government Model High School and Janiwala Government High School in sports stadium to commemorate Peshawar.
Toba school won the match. DO sports Attaullah Khan distributed prizes among the winner team players.
