CHITRAL: A community owned micro-hydel project was inaugurated in Arandu valley, Chitral district on Saturday.The project will electrify a government school, dispensary, police station and about 400 households.
Commander Sector North FC Brigadier Ziaul Islam inaugurated the 200kw project costing Rs17.30 million, which runs through water energy.Locals, community elders, Commandant Chitral Scouts Col Nizamuddin Shah, Col Mahmood, Major Kashif, Superintendent of Police Zafar Ahmad, member District Council Sher Muhammad, vice-chairman tehsil council Haji Sultan and staff of Aga Khan Rural Support Programme attended the event.
Brigadier Ziaul Islam, who was the chief guest, congratulated the villagers for successful completion of the project and appreciated the efforts of partners for their technical and financial support.
