GUJRANWALA: An anti-terrorism court judge on Thursday sent eight accused to the jail on a seven-day judicial remand in a case of torturing a couple.
Daska police produced the accused, including Gogi Cheema, Aslam Cheema, Awais Riasat, Shabbir alias Kalu, Hero Rasheed, Basharat and Ajju, before the judge, who sent them to the jail on judicial remand.
The accused had tortured Sarwar and his wife Sumaira, besides blackening their faces at Mitranwali village. According to police, Sarwar’s brother-in-law Nawazish had allegedly kidnapped labourer Shahzad Ahmed’s daughter Ayesha from the village a few days ago. Consequently, the abductee’s family tortured the couple.
