Experts for active lifestyle to avoid joints pain

The medical experts have emphasised making an active lifestyle to avoid pains especially arthritis, disturbance of spine disks, knees and other parts of the body. 

“The Advanced Pain Centre, Lahore, has brought latest technology to relieve patients of pain in joints, ankles and other parts of body without operation,” they said while speaking at a seminar on “Treatment of disk, knee, joint and other pains without operation – Possible now” organised by Mir Khalil-ur-Rahman Memorial Society (Jang Group of Newspapers) in collaboration with Advanced Pain Centre, Lahore, at a local hotel on Thursday.

Parliamentary Secretary for Health, Punjab, Khawaja Imran Nazir, while addressing the seminar, said computer and modern technology confined youths to homes and rendered them inactive, which robbed them of their healthy lives. Previously, he expressed that children used to play outside the houses and their bones and joints were strong. Now time has gone. Children don’t play and prefer to live in the houses. That is why their joints and bones are weak and causing arthritis, joint pains and host of other problems due to lack of activity or exercise. 

He lauded endeavours of Advanced Pain Centre for bringing latest technology to provide relief to the patients of their body pains without operation. “The treatment of joint pains without surgery has become possible through this latest technology,” he added. 

Prof Dr Mahmood Ali Malik, former principal King Edward Medical College, said pain in the body has direct link with the brain, which conveys message about pain in particular part of the body. “Brain has a centre of pain through which it sends message to the whole body,” he said, adding some people were sensitive and some were not about the pains in their bodies. However, he said, it is important to immediately get rid of the pain to get relief. 

The Advanced Pain Centre Chairman Dr Abdul Naeem Naushad said intensive pain affects/disturbs the daily routine of human life and the patient goes into isolation. However, like in America and other developed countries, a latest technology has also been introduced in Pakistan to provide relief to the patients of joints, ankles from pain without operation. “The patients visit our facility and their foremost desire is to get relief from pain without surgery,” he said, adding Advanced Pain Centre Lahore has provided countless patients relief from pains and restored their normal life. 

He explained that new technology was a mix of new and old technology, adding that the facilities were now available to diagnose the ailment with the help of latest X-ray machines, physical examination i.e. thermography and other diagnostic tests and giving them fair analysis after taking their history.

He said a special team of stem cell surgery had been involved to treat patients of heart, kidneys, paralysis and TB through stem cell therapy. “Stem cells therapy is adapted not to earn money rather serve the patients,” he added. He expressed that they had brought latest treatment technology to manage body pains so that the people didn’t have to go to India, China and America to get relief from their joint pains and arthritis. He said they were ready to offer subsidised treatment to patients at 50 per cent cost if the government facilitated Advanced Pain Centre.

Dr Celia Ringstad from America said that human body was working like a machine, therefore there was a need to change the way of life to get rid of pain.

Later, in a question answer session, Dr Joe Walmart and Dr Paul Pearce answered the questions of audience regarding getting relief from their body pains, saying the pains started when blood stopped circulating in the body and didn’t reach in joints. However, they said, 98 per cent patients could get relief from their pains and they could be cured of their pains at Advanced Pain Centre easily.   Besides, Dr Rehana Malik and MKRMS Chairman Wasif Nagi, who hosted the seminar, spoke.
