LAHORE
A division bench of the Lahore High Court Thursday dismissed a petition filed by a man allegedly involved in blackmailing more than 200 lady doctors through social media against his custody to Federal Investigation Agency in Peshawar.
Abdul Wahab who was arrested by the Central Investigation Agency after more than 200 lady doctors complained against him that he used to blackmail them through social media.
On Thursday, as the hearing commenced, the counsel of accused Abdul Wahab told the court that CIA police lodged an FIR against his client on the charges of blackmailing lady doctors through social media but now he was being handed over to FIA Peshawar as some unknown persons were booked there. He said he had nothing to do with the charges levelled against him. He pleaded the court to bar police to hand over his client to FIA Peshawar.
However, CIA Inspector Abdul Razzaq opposed the arguments and said that police had investigated the matter and found him guilty while his challan had also been submitted before the trial court. Police had nothing to do with FIA Peshawar, he said.
After hearing both sides, a division bench headed by Justice Sadaqat Ali Khan dismissed the petition.
