Two more corona patients die in Faisalabad
FAISALABAD: Two more people died while 78 others tested corona positive here on Wednesday.
According to Health Department source, 570 corona tests were conducted in public and private sector labs during the last 24 hours. He told that 585 people had died from corona in the district since the outbreak of the pandemic. He informed that total number of active cases in Faisalabad had reached 2,061, while 9,206 patients had recovered from the disease. He said that 550 beds had been allocated at the Allied Hospital and 85 at the DHQ Hospital for COVID-19 patients.
547 SHOPPING MALLS, RESTAURANTS SEALED: As many as 547 shopping malls, restaurants, marriage halls and private schools had been sealed during the last nine days due to violation of corona SOPs here.
Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali said that assistant commissioners of the district were in field to check implementation of the corona SOPs and actions were taken against the violators. He said 50 private schools had been sealed during the last nine days as they were opened despite holidays. He said 381 shopping malls, 82 restaurants and 34 marriage halls had been also sealed during the period.
2,268 SENIOR CITIZENS VACCINATED: As many as 2,268 senior citizens have been vaccinated against COVID-19 during the last 13 days at five vaccination centres here.
According to District Health Officer Dr Ataul Monem, 1,923 elderly people had been vaccinated at Sports Complex Samanabad Centre while 260 people had been vaccinated at Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Samundri New Building Centre, 222 people at Sports Complex Chak Jhumra, 162 people at Tehsil Headquarters Hospital New Building Tandlianwala and 101 people at Rural Health Centre New Building Kharianwala.
Meanwhile, the administration has asked the shopkeepers and traders to wear masks and enforce their customers to do the same.
On the other hand, face mask manufacturers said that the prices of raw materials used in masks had gone up due to increased demand in markets in a few days.
CORONA WARDS: The corona wards of government hospitals have been almost full in the district. It was stated by Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali while presiding over a meeting of the District Peace Committee. He appealed to the religious scholars to teach the people about implementation of corona SOPs. The DC said that the only way to prevent corona was precaution and the government had also directed to spread the slogan ‘Corona is an epidemic, precaution is a cure’.
ARREST WARRANTS: The District Court has issued arrest warrants for PTI MPA Ch Ali Akhtar Khan. Ch Ali Akhtar is the brother of Punjab Minister Ch Zaheeruddin.
According to the court record, a citizen Mukhtar Ahmed had filed a petition in the court of Civil Judge Shahid Naseeb against Ch Ali Akhtar.
He alleged in his petition that the accused had rented his 82-Marla land and after becoming an MPA, he occupied the land instead of paying the rent. After listening the arguments, the court ordered to arrest Ch Ali Akhtar and produce him before the court, return the land of Mukhtar Ahmed and pay him Rs 3.2 million.
ACTION: The district government has decided to take strict legal action against those people who will not wear mask at public places.The spokesperson for the district administration asked the citizens to strictly adhere to the precautionary measures and ensure use of face masks.
