Two ‘robbers’ killed in encounter

LAHORE: Two dacoits were killed in an alleged police encounter in the limits of Guldasht Town police post on Wednesday.

Three cops, a 10-year-old boy and a woman were also injured in the crossfire. The two robbers took shelter in a house upon being encircled by the cops and opened fire that left three cops, a boy and a woman injured. The police retaliation resulted in the death of two robbers who have not been identified yet. The injured cops have been identified as Farooq, Mohsin and Islamul Haq, the boy as Ahmed and the woman as Naseem. They were removed to Lahore Services Hospital. A heavy contingent of police rushed to the spot. The CCPO Lahore visited Services Hospital to inquire after the injured cops. The bodies of the robbers were removed to the morgue.

suffocated to death: Two youths suffocated to death in a fire that broke out in a garments factory in the Ravi Road area on Wednesday. The victims were identified as Awais, 21, and Mehran, 18. It was reported that the two boys were asleep when the fire broke out in the factory in Tauheedabad, Ravi Road. Police said they had been working at the factory for the past few months. The fire-fighters rushed to the spot, but by the time they managed to enter the building, the two Awais and Mehran had died in a room.
