Allama Kaukab Noorani Okarvi said that a common observance is that men usually want to marry younger women, and an exception to the rule is found only in the cases in which a young man who happens to be financially unstable agrees to marry an older woman if she happens to be rich. In the following segment of the programme, a young man, Mazhar, who is seven years younger than his wife, Khalida, told the host on the programme that their respective families were not very comfortable over the proposition, but the couple did not heed their objections because they knew that religion does not bar any such marriage.
