Rs10 per litre relief in ghee, cooking oil rates in Ramazan Bazaars

LAHORE: Pakistan Vanaspati Manufacturers Association will provide Rs10 per kg/litre relief to consumers on sale of vegetable ghee and cooking oil of various brands in Ramazan bazaars of the Punjab government.

The offer was given by a delegation of the Pakistan Vanaspati Manufacturers Association headed by Arif Qasim along with Muhammad Waheed Chaudhry, Abid Malik, Mudasar Amin and others who called on Minister for Industries and Trade Mian Aslam Iqbal at Punjab Board of Investment and Trade here on Monday to discuss the provision of ghee to Ramazan Bazaars at subsidised rates.

Secretary Industries Wasif Khurshid and DG Industries were also present. The delegation agreed to provide Rs10 per kg/litre relief to consumers on sale of ghee in Ramazan bazaars. The delegation assured further relief in Ramazan, adding there would be no shortage of the item in Ramazan bazaars.

Aslam Iqbal said that the government would provide essential items at subsidised rates in 313 Ramazan bazaars and a Ramazan package worth Rs7 billion has been announced by the government.

Meanwhile, subsidised sahulat bazaars are providing relief to the buyers in different districts of the province, he added. The government will ensure the availability of quality items in Ramazan bazaars according to the prices of 2018 and every sort of resources will be made available for facilitating the citizens, he added.
