KARACHI: More than 26 junior players got tips from Egyptian squash stars Mazen Hesham and Karim Abdel Gawad here on Monday and termed it “a memorable experience”.
“The kids are enthusiastic about squash and they have potential,” said world number 13 Mazen Hesham while talking to ‘The News’ after the camp.
He said he gave the kids tips and highlighted the importance of training to be successful in this game. “They should train four to five times a week and should have more passion in their game,” added Mazen.
World number 8 Karim Abdel Gawad said he taught basic techniques to the players and hoped they enjoyed learning new skills. “This was a memorable experience for both of us and the young players,” he said.
“Pakistan and Egypt have always produced talented squash players and our nations love this game,” he added.
Creek Club secretary Brig (retd) Sajid Jadoon said these activities having top-ranked players on board were always very encouraging. “Having world class squash players in Karachi and seeing them train our junior players was delightful,” he added.
