Rawalpindi The PML-N kept up with development of the city and the elected leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) and Awami Muslim League (AML) neglected the residents hence Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) gained a decisive victory in Rawalpindi reinforcing city’s image as a stronghold of PML-N, said PML-N leader Sardar Naseem. PTI and AML, MNAs and MPAs despite receiving millions of rupees funds did not bother to initiate any single project in the city. PML-N victorious leader told this correspondent that the much opposed ‘metro-bus’ project proved to be a blessing for the residents and that reflected in the voting trend, Sardar Nasim added. The ex-MPA, Sardar Naseem who also won the recent elections of local bodies from his constituency with record number of votes against his opponents including PTI, AML and independent candidates expressed his thanks to the people of Rawalpindi for using their right of franchise in success of his party. Sardar Naseem who has also served as chairman of RDA and Incharge of Chief Minister’s Development Monitoring team termed the victory a sign of PML-N supremacy over other political parties in Punjab. Over the last two and a half years, PML-N have been enforcing development and welfare projects in the country in general and Punjab in particular. The government of PML-N is also strenuously working to overcome the issue of power crisis by implementing mega projects. On the other hand, the PTI candidates who won seats of Rawalpindi city in 2013 general elections but did not take any initiative to even resolve the basic issues of people in their respective constituencies. He did not agree to a question that the PTI candidates as well as Sheikh Rasheed did not respond well because the federal government did not allocate any development funds to them. Rather Sardar Naseem who is likely to become Mayor of the Rawalpindi city informed that the government allocates funds worth Rs20 million to each MNA and MPA in all constituencies. As such the allegations of not receiving funds by the PTI and other candidates belonging to opposition are absolutely wrong. Because of failure of the PTI’s elected representatives including MNAs and MPAs in delivering in a better way for which purpose the masses elected them in the general elections, they were ignored in the local bodies election by the public. Instead of delivering, the PTI remained active in staging sit-ins and raising allegations of riggings from the constituencies their candidates lost the general elections.
