PML-N bags majority seats in Sialkot From Our Correspondent SIALKOT: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz emerged victorious by grabbing most of the slots of union council chairmen/vice-chairmen and general councillors for the Sialkot Municipal Corporation in the local government polls held on Saturday. According to the unofficial results, the PML-N secured 19 UCs out of total 24 UCs falling under the Sialkot Municipal Corporation, while the PTI won three and one was won by an independent candidate. The winners are: Imran Sharif of PML-N (UC Hamza Ghous), Meraj Din of PML-N (UC Pindi Araian), Shamsher Gul Khan of PML-N (UC Talwara Mughlan), Muhammad Rafique Mughal of PML-N (UC Kotli Behram), Mian Asif Javed of PML-N (UC Pakka Garha), Mian Muhammad Jehangir of PML-N (UC Model Town), Zulfiqar Ahmed of PML-N (UC Mianapura), Muhammad Nawaz of PML-N (UC Muzaffarpur), Mian Ashfaq Ahmad of PML-N (UC Mubarakpura), Sohail Ahmad Butt of PML-N (UC Shah Syedan), Malik Sarfraz Ahmad of PML-N (UC Shahabpura), Ch Bashir Ahmad of PML-N (UC Fatehgarh), Ch Muhammad Shakeel of PML-N (UC Hajipura), Ansar Latif of PTI (UC Hajipura Bund), Mujahid Maqbool of PML-N (UC Imam Sahib), Sh Muhammad Ashraf Haider of PML-N (UC Nekapura), Mehr Ashiq Hussain (UC Doburji Araian), former deputy mayor Mirza Aurangzeb (UC Islamabad), Khurram Shahbaz Khan of PML-N (UC Karimpura), Imdad Ali of PML-N (UC Pura Hairan), Sheikh Ikraam of PTI (UC Rangpura), Haji Abdul Qadeer Sheikh of PML-N (UC Ahmadpura), and Ch Tauheed Akhtar of PML-N (UC Muhammadpura). The polling in UC Waterworks was already postponed due to the sudden demise of PML-N candidate for vice-chairman slot Ch Khalid Ali.
