LHC judge visits Gujranwala jail From Our Correspondent GUJRANWALA: Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah of the Lahore High Court has said that a computer laboratory and a library should be established in the Central Jail to provide computer and other technical training to the prisoners. This was said by him during his visit to the jail here on Sunday. He said that recommendations for increase in the jail budget to provide better facilities to the prisoners would be forwarded to the government. He directed the jail officers to arrange technical training programmes for the prisoners to make them useful citizens of the society. He inspected different barracks and directed the jail officers to ensure provision of potable water to the prisoners, besides installing solar panels. Additional District and Sessions Judge Habibullah Amir, Superintendent Central Jail Kamran Anjum, Dr Arif and others were also present.
Girl murdered for ‘honour’ From Our Correspondent GUJRANWALA: A girl was murdered for honour at Dhulley on Sunday. Hassan, a resident of Gala Bau Khalidwala, doubted the character of his sister Aleena. On the day of the incident, Hassan allegedly gunned down his sister. Police have registered a case and started investigation.
