KARACHI: Pakistan’s professional boxer Mohammad Waseem continued to impress as he knocked out Indonesian rival Suparyanto Doglo in the third round of his super flyweight pro battle in connection with King’s Cup 2015 at the Sanam Luang in Bangkok on Saturday.
His brother Faheem confirmed it to ‘The News’ that Waseem emerged victorious in a very important bout against the Indonesian.
“Waseem’s promoter Andy Kim told me that Waseem knocked Doglo out in the third round,” Faheem said.
This is the second successive triumph for the Quetta-born boxer in his professional career, which he started only two months back.
The 2014 Asian Games bronze medallist made an impressive debut when he knocked out South Korea’s Min Wook Lee in the ninth round battle on October 4 this year in Incheon to win the Korean Boxing Commission (KBC) title.
He will now be able to play for regional titles in 2016 like Pan Asian Boxing Association (PABA) title.
In a recent interview with ‘The News’, Waseem had said that he has the guts to become world champion in six to eight bouts. He has done well so far but how he tackles big guns in the future remains to be seen.
