‘Corridor to open new avenues of progress in region’

FAISALABAD: Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) Vice-President Jamil Ahmad Saturday said China-Pakistan Economic Corridor will open new avenues of progress and prosperity in the entire region.
Addressing a function after inking a Memorandum of Understanding between the FCCI and Shannixi Association for Promotion of International Economic Cooperation at FPCCI (Punjab office), Jamil said business communities of Pakistan and China will have to prepare them to fully exploit the business opportunities brewing as a by-product of this mega infrastructure project.
Mian Muhammad Idrees, President Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and Provincial Head of FPCCI Khawaja Zarar Kalim were also present.
Jamil said the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping has given a new tilt to our ties in addition to paving way for the exploitation of economic benefits of China.
He said $ 46 billion investment will gear up the economic development of the region.
Earlier, the FCCI Vice President signed the MOU with Geo Yang, Head of business delegation. Under this MoU both the chambers will collectively work towards improving trade, commerce and economic cooperation between members of both the chambers of commerce and industry.
It was further agreed to work towards promoting exchange of information relating to their respective markets.
