Huge cache of arms recovered in Hangu

HANGU: The security forces recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition concealed in a cave and believed to be used to target the processions of the Chehlum of Hazrat Iamam Hussain (RA) in the district, officials said on Friday.
District Police Officer (DPO) Shah Nazar and officials of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) told the reporters that the arms and ammunition had been hidden in a cave in Darsamandar Chena area of Thall tehsil of Hangu district.
Showing the arms and ammunition to the reporters at the Thall Port in Hangu, the officials said that on the information provided by the intelligence agencies, the security forces had launched a search operation in various parts of the district.
They said the security forces recovered three
Kalashnikovs, a rocket launcher, 32 mortars shills, 34 fuses (RPG-7), eight hand grenades, as many MM-181 and 31, MM-182 mortars bombs and 3,900 cartridges during the search.
The officials said the militants had dumped the arms and ammunition in a cave.
Apparently, the officials said, the militants’ wanted to target the processions of the Chehlum, which was observed a day earlier.
