LAHORE PTI organiser Punjab Chaudhary Mohammad Sarwar on Friday congratulated Chaudhry Ashfaq and the PTI team on securing majority in Toba Tek Singh Municipal Committee elections. Addressing a press conference at the PTI Lahore Secretariat, Ch Sarwar, also the former Governor Punjab, said out of a House of 29, PTI has 15 elected councillors hence Tehreek-e-Insaaf is now able to form government in the TTS municipal committee. PTI leader from TTS Mian Ishfaq and 15 newly elected councillors from municipal committee of TTS were also present. A meeting of all the councillors from TTS MC was held at the PTI Secretariat Lahore where it was unanimously agreed by all that the Chairman of TTS MC will be Atif Safdar Randhawa and Vice-Chairman will be Saeed-ur-Rehman Tahir. Ch Sarwar said this is a great beginning for the PTI. Ch Sarwar also alleged that the PML-N was playing the politics of victimisation and registering fake FIRs against the PTI winning candidates. Sarwar claimed government has sealed three marriage halls that belong to PTI Chairman candidate Mr Atif Randhawa and his family and the police are conducting raids on the houses of all candidates who won the LG election and who are with the PTI. “PML-N has set a record of using state machinery against their opponents and have found the most tricky ways of carrying out electoral fraud. Despite these tactics, PML-N is not in a position to form the government in TTS and PTI candidates will form the government in TTS MC”, Sarwar claimed. Sarwar also said PML-N is threatening winning candidates who have pledged their support to the PTI for the seat of the Chairman. He said the will of the people and the need for change have come through these results. People of TTS want to break the status quo. He said the PTI will not sit quietly and be a spectator whilst PML-N harasses the PTI candidates. He said the PTI will launch a protest movement throughout Punjab if the PML-N didn’t stop
their politics of intimidation. PTI leader Mian Ashfaq from TTS said the this government is worse than a dictator’s regime and the government has found new ways of harassing the PTI candidates.
