KARACHI: Some of the leading players of the country are expected to feature in the Hadi Cup Bridge Pairs Championship which gets underway here at the Aslam Bridge Hall, housed in the National Stadium, on Saturday (today).
According to the details made available by the Karachi Bridge Associates (KBA), here on Friday, the two-day tournament has been instituted by Khurshid Hadi, Mind Sports Association of Pakistan (MSAP) chairman in the memory of his father. The Hadi Cup, to be spread over four sessions, is expected to attract quite a few of the seasoned campaigners, particularly those based in Karachi, which has been the hub of bridge activities for a number of years.
Greater participation of the leading players is expected in view of the UAE National Day Bridge Festival, which is starting in Dubai on December 13. It will provide them invaluable match practice.
The KBA will also be fielding a couple of pairs, by the name of KBA Gold and KBA Silver.
The opening session of the Hadi Cup is due to start at 2:30 pm.
The last two sessions, one on Mitchell movement basis and the other one on Howell movement basis, will start from 2:30 pm at the same venue on Sunday (tomorrow).
