LG polls in Dera Ghazi Khan Tribal chiefs, feudal lords active for their candidates’ victory From Hasnain Qaisrani DERA GHAZI KHAN: The tribal chiefs and feudal lords ruling the politics of Dera Ghazi Khan District are making efforts for the victory of their relatives and friends to grab share in local government in the semi tribal district. Former MNA Sardar Muhammad Saif-ul-Din Khan Khosa is himself contesting the election for the slot of chairman from Union Council Chabri Zirin as he is determined to compete for the slot of Zila council chairman while he fielded his son-in-law Waqas Durani from Union Council Sabbar Nacha. Sardar Saif-ul-Din Khan Khosa is representing the PTI while the PTI is also being led by MPA Sardar Ahmed Ali Khan Dareeshak, who is campaigning against the contestants fielded by Sardar Saif-ul-Din. Interestingly, Sardar Saif-ul-Din is also supporting the PML-N contestant Asad Khan Khosa from Union Council Shah Saddar Din against Sardar Abdul Qadir Khan Khosa, who is an independent contestant and the son of PML-N MNA Sardar Muhammad Amjad Farooq Khan Khosa, while he is also campaigning for another PML-N contestant Sardar Umar Khan Khosa from Union Council Dhao in retaliation as sitting MNA Sardar Amajd Khosa is opposing him in Union Council Chabri Zirin. The situation has made the election very tough and interesting as PTI leader is supporting PML-N candidates nominated by PML-N MPA Sardar Javeed Akhtar Lound. Sardar Muhammad Jaafar Khan Buzdar, younger son of former MPA Sardar Fateh Muhammad Khan Buzdar and younger brother of former Tehsil Nazim tribal area Sardar Usman Buzdar, is contesting from Union Council Mubarki to defend his slot, who was elected during the last term of the local government elections in 2005. Sardar Muhammad Ahmed Khan Laghari, son of former senator Sardar Manssor Ahmed Khan Laghari, and the cousin of former federal minister Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Laghari, is contesting from Union Council Mutfariq Chahan as an independent candidate, who is also being presented as the candidate for Zila Council chairman by Laghari Group to rule the district. Former MPA and divisional coordinator PML-N Sardar Meer Badshah Qaisrani is fully favouring his close cousin Sardar Mumtaz Ahmed Bhuttoo Qaisrani from his native town and union council Kot Qaisrani, who was also elected Nazim in the last term. This time Mumtaz Ahmed Bhuttoo is facing tough time as his rival Qari Amanullah Qaisrani representing Jamiat Ulema Islam succeeded to get the support of all the main caste and gathered to unite the anti-feudal and anti-chief forces. Malick Munnawar Saqib the husband of former MPA Lubna Saqib is in the field from union council No 3 with his two brothers Malick Mohammad Iqbal Saqib from union council No 10 while Malick Mehboob Saqib from union council no 11. PML-N MPA Sardar Javeed Akhtar Lound is extensively working for his three cousins Sardar Reehan Khan Lound, Sardar Khalid Ismail Khan Lound and Sardar Mohammad Nawaz Khan Lound respectively contesting from union council Ahmadani, union council Shadan Lound and union council Ranjha on the ticket of PML-N.
