Ex-MNA Kharal passes away From Our Correspondent OKARA: Former MNA Rai Muhammad Aslam Kharal advocate died of cardiac arrest on Wednesday. People from different walks of life attend his Namaz-e-Janaza at his ancestral village, Bakshu. Later, he was laid to rest. He was 63. He was twice elected member of the National Assembly (MNA). During the PPP rule, he served as chairman of the People’s Works Programme. PRESS CLUB ELECTIONS: The annual elections of the press club were held here on Wednesday. Election was held for president and general secretary slots only, while other slots would be filled after mutual consultation between the two contesting groups. Ch Zafar Iqbal and Sh Sajid Rashid were elected president and general secretary respectively after securing 27 votes. The other group comprising Abdul Hameed Juj and Sh Muhammad Azhar bagged only 14 votes. ELECTROCUTED: A woman was electrocuted at Sharif town on Wednesday. Bashiran Bibi w/o Younus was washing clothes when she received severe electric shock. As a result, she died on the spot.
