Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Punjab Organiser, Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar has accused returning officer of using illegal and forceful ways to turn PTI winning candidates into losers by presenting audio evidence to declare father of Federal Minister Saira Afzal Tarar, who had lost the polls."We don’t want politics of confrontation in the country, but government is using ways to compel us to do so and make us believe that electoral process can’t bring change in the country" said the PTI Punjab Organiser while lodging serious protest over the victory of Saira Afzal Tarar’s father in vote recount.
Sarwar on the occasion gave audio proof of putting influence on the polling staff by Saira Afzal Tarar, and telephonic interaction between PTI candidate Mamoon Tarar and Hafizabad Election Commission Amir during a press conference at Chairman Secretariat along with Mehdi Hassan Bhatti, Mamoon Tarar and Deputy Organiser Umar Sarfraz Cheema.
The derogatory remarks regarding court, election commission, by RO Allah Dita were made according to the will of the PML-N, said the PTI Punjab leader. Sarwar on the occasion also posed a question to PML-N while saying what could be the big rigging proof than audio proof? The derogatory and humiliating comments of RO regarding election commission should also be condemned, but it also professed that ROs were working according to orders and directions of the PML-N in local government election. According to the law, the presence of both candidates is essential, but RO conducted recounting in the absence of the PTI candidate despite orders by election commission against recounting in that situation in the presence of stay order by high court.
In first recount, he said that the rejected votes were 141, but in second recount, the toll rose to 714 and Sarwar asked the question, whether staff was drunk during first recount that took place after the local government election in Hafizabad.
Nineteen Union Council chairman seats in Hafizabad have been changed into only 10 seats in the name of recount on the direction and orders of the PML-N, Sarwar alleged.
