BZU ex-registrar’s bail rejected From Our Correspondent MULTAN: The special judge of Anti-Corruption Monday rejected the bail plea of the Bahauddin Zakariya University ex-registrar and sent him to jail on judicial remand. According to anti-corruption sources, the BZU ex-registrar was produced before the Multan Anti-Corruption judge, and the officials sought extension in his physical remand. The ex-registrar filed his bail plea, but the judge rejected the plea and sent him to the jail on 14-day judicial remand. He was arrested on corruption charges, misuse of powers and bogus recruitments. FIVE INJURED IN COURT: Five people suffered critical knife injuries in a brawl that occurred on Monday between two groups at the Multan district courts’ judicial lock up during the hearing of a case. According to police, when handcuffed accused Fahim was brought before the senior civil judge then a group led by his rival Mehboob attacked him with bottles in front of judicial lock. The men of the Mehboob group used daggers, leaving five men injured. The brawl continued for fifteen minutes. Police arrested Murtaza alias Lala, Faizan and Mehboob Ali. Four attackers, including Rizwan and Maqsood managed to escape. The Chehllyak police said both the groups belonged to Qureshi group and the dispute was over litigation over a piece of land.
