Member of National Assembly and Public Affairs Unit Chairman Hamza Shahbaz has said that media is playing a commendable role in social uplift due to which corruption is being exposed.
He said that there should be complete unity despite political differences for national progress and prosperity.
Talking to media after a function at a local hotel Monday, he said that there was a growing public awareness and the people fully supported those who delivered and the result of recent local government elections was a proof of this fact.
He said that snap election was a very difficult phase for any government. He said that in Indian State Bihar, the ruling party badly lost elections whereas in Pakistan, masses had expressed complete confidence in Pakistan Muslim League-N government in local government elections which were held on political basis.
Replying a question, he said that politics of sit-in had been buried and it was time for action. He said that the important projects in energy sectors would be completed in 2017, which would completely change the situation bringing about a new era of prosperity. Replying another question, he said that mega projects were important but it was also necessary to solve basic problems of citizens at their local level. He stressed upon new elected LG office-bearers to serve the people of their area by rising above their political affiliations. He said that the PML-N would win general elections of 2018 on the basis of its performance.
Hamza Shahbaz said that in the developed countries, the modern concept of government was of a corporate institution but unfortunately there was red tape in government departments in our country.
He said that the PML-N was bringing substantial changes in the efficiency of government and projects of metro bus and orange line was a clear proof of this fact. He said that besides identifying short-term, media should also highlight the positive role of the government.
