PPP foundation day today

LAHORE
The PPP holds a function in connection with its 48th Foundation Day on Monday (today) near Bhatta Chowk, Airport Road, where Mian Manzoor Wattoo will be the chief guest and Samina Gurkhi will chair the ceremony.
Mian Manzoor Wattoo in his address is expected to project the arduous struggle that the PPP waged for the realisation of the rights of the poor segments of society including the restoration of democracy in the country. He is also expected to shed light in detail on the ultimate sacrifices rendered by the leaders to nurture democracy considering it with conviction as an article of faith.
Workers and office-bearers will gather at the PPP Model Town Party Secretariat to depart for the venue of the function in a procession in the afternoon. The other speakers in their speeches will focus on the struggle that the party launched for the empowerment of the common people who refused to cave in to fear, torture, lashing and hanging for the cause of PPP ideals, to build the country as a liberal, democratic and progressive country as per the vision of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
