2013 election mandate endorsed in LG polls: CM adviser

CHAKWAL: Muhammad Mansha Butt, adviser to the Punjab Chief Minister, Saturday said the people of Punjab endorsed the mandate of the 2013 elections in the local government elections.
Talking to reporters after having a meeting with lawmakers of district Chakwal at the DCO committee room, the adviser said the third phase the LG polls in Punjab would also be win by the PML-N candidates as the party was making all-out efforts to resolve the problems of the people at their door steps.
He said committed chairmen and mayors would be inducted in municipal committees, district councils and municipals corporations throughout the province.
Special assistant to CM Malik Saleem Iqbal, Senator Gen (retd) Abdul Qayyum, MNA Major Tahir Iqbal, MNA Sardar Mumtaz Tamman, and MPA Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Dullah were also present on the occasion. Butt urged unity among lawmakers. He said candidates for the slot of chairman and mayors would be nominated by CM Shahbaz Sharif and final nomination would be made after consulting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. Earlier, the lawmakers briefed the adviser on the results of the LG polls of their constituencies.
