PESHAWAR: An assistant sub-inspector was shot and wounded on Friday by unidentified attackers on the Kohat Road near the Government College of Technology. Police said ASI Waris Khan of the Bhanamari Police Station was attacked by unidentified armed men while performing duty on the Kohat Road. The attackers escaped from the scene. The wounded policeman was shifted to the Lady Reading Hospital where he was under treatment. Officials said a search operation was launched in the area and a number of suspects were held who were being interrogated. Meanwhile, 24 suspects, including Afghan nationals, were held during a search operation in Spina Warai and other parts of the Pishtakhara Police Station.
