Councillor booked for robbery

GUJRANWALA: Ferozewala police have registered a robbery case against a newly-elected general councillor.
In an application, Mehmood Ahmad of Aminpur Syedan alleged that Nazim Abbas, a general councillor, entered his house and looted cash and a mobile phone.

Girl raped by brother-in-law

GUJRANWALA: A girl was raped by her brother-in-law at Kangniwala.
Faiza was alone in the house when her brother-in-law Yousaf came and allegedly raped her. Sabzi Mandi police have registered a case.

Police accused of torturing man

GUJRANWALA: A 27-year-old man has accused Gakhar Mandi police of torturing him.
Talking to newsmen at the DHQ Hospital, Iqbal alleged that police picked him from his house three days ago and forced him to accept a theft incident. On refusal, police allegedly tortured him, he added. He said that when he fell unconscious, police shifted him to the hospital.
