Makhdoom Jamil Zaman succeeds

SUKKUR: Makhdoom Jamil Zaman, son of the late Makhdoom Amin Fahim, succeeded his father as the 19th spiritual leader of the Sarwari Jamaat. This was announced at the Soyem of Makhdoom Amin Fahim held in Hala. It was attended by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, the Speaker of Sindh Assembly, Agha Siraj Durrani, and other political leaders besides a large number of the followers of the Sarwari Jamaat.
Besides being a provincial minister, Makhdoom Jamil Zaman is an accomplished author having written 19 books. Meanwhile, former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gillani has said that Makhdoom Amin Fahim was an important pillar of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).
Talking to the media at Hala, he said that no one could fill the vacuum the death of Makhdoom Amin Fahim had created. Gilani said Amin Fahim’s services to the party had been par excellence. Another former prime minister Mir Zaffarullah Khan Jamali met Makhdoom Jamil Zaman and offered his condolences on the death of his father. Later talking to the media, Jamali paid rich tributes to the services of late Makhdoom Amin Fahim.
