KARACHI: National Bank of Pakistan’s (NBP) Murad Ali clinched the men’s singles title, while WAPDA’s Mahoor Shahzad claimed women’s singles title in the all-Pakistan Ranking Badminton Tournament at New Khan Badminton Hall in Lahore on Monday.
Murad lost the first set against Irfan Saeed of WAPDA, but made a strong comeback and won the next two sets to pull off a 17/21, 21/17, 21/8 victory.
Mahoor Shahzad thrashed Khizra Rasheed and recorded a convincing 21/14, 21/6 victory.
In men’s doubles final, NBP’s pair of Rizwan Azam and Kashif Sulhari, who have represented Pakistan, defeated Awais Zahid and Attique Chaudhry of WAPDA, recording a 21/16, 18/21, 21/15 triumph.
WAPDA’s Saima Waqas and Farzana Ali won women’s doubles title as they beat their teammates Sidra Hameed and Khizra Rasheed by 16/21, 21/14, 21/18.
