‘Sadiq Model UN’ moot inaugurated

BAHAWALPUR: Former Senate chairman Muhammad Mian Soomro Friday inaugurated three-day ‘Sadiq Model United Nations’ Assembly global moot in the Sadiq Public School, Bahawalpur.
The moot is aimed to promote awareness about global affairs and leadership qualities among the students. In this UN Assembly the sessions of all UN subsidiary institutions, like Security Council, UNICEF and General Assembly have been scheduled. The students of prestigious institutions of the country would demonstrate their skills and express their knowledge about world affairs and international issues.
Soomro was the chief guest of the inaugural session. Former diplomat Masood Akhtar Afridi and Professor Zafar Nawaz Jaspal of the Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad attended the session as special guests.
Sadiq Public School principal Prof Nauman Qureshi in his address said by organising such moots talent of the students can be enhanced.
IMPLEMENTING POLLS CODE: Rahimyar Khan District Police Officer (DPO) Zahid Nawaz Marwat Friday urged MNAs, MPAs and politicians to ensure the implementation of local bodies electoral code of conduct in letter and spirit to hold free and fair local government polls in the district.
He said the district administration was fully prepared to hold the LG polls. He urged them to extend their cooperation in this regard.
TRAIN KILLS MAN: A train killed an unidentified man on Friday. The Karachi-bound Fareed Express hit the man near Nawaz Sharif flyover. The dead body was shifted to QMC/Bahawal Victoria Hospital (BVH).
